Your accommodation will be in the surf villa equipped with air conditioning, hot water, Wi-Fi, fan, mini bar, pool, and tea/coffee maker. It is a two-minute walk to the main surf spot. Located 50 meters away from Hikkaduwa’s main surf point, the Surf Villa offers quality accommodation not only for surfers but anyone who likes to be part of the amazing beach life Hikkaduwa has to offer. The garden in front gives you an ideal atmosphere to relax.

They pick you up at the airport on the first day and drop off at the hotel in Hikkaduwa. They will serve you daily breakfast. You start the surf lessons from the next day of your arrival.

The main surf spot is within walking distance from the hotel. A professional surf instructor will guide you and they will provide you surfboards, leg rope, and a rash guard for 5 surf lessons. You will get a Galle city tour including Galle Fort. Then you will witness the taste of an authentic Sri Lankan rice and curry dinner.

On the last day, they will drop you to the airport and it will be a memorable tour for sure.

The hotel is located just 100 meters to the Wewala Beach, 200 meters to Narigama beach, and 500 meters to Turtle beach.

Hikkaduwa

Hikkaduwa is the main surf destination and attracts surfers from Australia, UK, Japan, USA, and many more countries. There are up to four main surf points with clear, warm water in the Hikkaduwa area. Although most of them are reef breaks, none of them are risky. All spots have a deep bottom and flat reef.

The size of the waves range from two to seven feet during the season time. The main point is called “main reef” which has an “A” frame shaped wave which surfers can ride both the right hander and a left hander. One of the main reasons for Hikkaduwa’s popularity is due to the selection of budget and luxury accommodation.

Hikkaduwa was a fishing village 30 years ago and since the early 1980’s, it has become one of the major tourist attractions in Sri Lanka. It’s famous for its natural beauty, wide sandy beaches, marine reserve, crystal clear waters, and hot sun.

All of these make it a desired destination on the south coast of Sri Lanka. Tourists stream to Hikkaduwa mainly for the range of water sports like surfing, scuba diving, kite surfing, and much more.

Nearby surf spots

Benny’s — Classic left hander on a reef break south of Hikkaduwa town, good for more experienced surfers. When the main point goes over six feet, conditions are superb.

The Main Point (main reef) — The island’s most popular surf break with left & right handers; reef-bottomed but safe due to depth. Heights between 2–10 feet on a good day. ~1.5 km from town.

Beach Break — ~100 m south of the main point; ideal for beginners; mixture of reef through sand bars.

The Rock — ~40 minutes south near Unawatuna; lefts and rights, locals prefer the left; waves up to eight feet.

Plantation Point — ~50 minutes south in Weligama; perfectly shaped right-hander with reef break; suitable for beginners and experienced surfers; waves up to six feet.

Mirissa — ~1 hour south; respectable sized wave, sandy bottom with scattered reef; beginner-friendly; up to five feet.

Polhena — ~1.5 hours south; two reef-bottom breaks (left & right) with fast waves around six feet.
